M-43 Shovel cover

This canvas sheath is used to carry the M-1943 shovel, often called the “folding shovel,” which, unlike the “T-shovel,” can be used as a pickaxe. This sheath is equipped with a hook—of the first type—that allows the shovel to be secured to a belt or to the M-1928 knapsack in the designated slot. The cover is dated 1943, is OD3 in color, and shows signs of wear.
