Small mesh Helmet net

This helmet net is unique. Issued to the U.S. Army, it is worn on the U.S. M1 helmet by tucking it between the shell and the lightweight helmet liner. This type of fine-mesh net was supplied to many divisions that landed in Normandy in 1944 and thereafter. Its purpose is to improve the soldier’s camouflage.
