M1 Helmet

This M1 helmet is original and was produced during World War II for the US Army.

The shell, with welded front rim and movable chin strap loops, bears the serial number 811A. The chin straps are original. There are a few defects on the chin strap hook (slightly bent) and the rim (dented). Superb cork and paint.

The liner is a Firestone with black A-washers. Some of the straps have been gnawed by mice. The chin strap is present but dry and brittle. Paint in very good condition.

The set has not been cleaned and is left as found. A beautiful complete late-war set.
