More info

Normandy, north, south, east and west, has a large number of war cemeteries, both from the Second World War and the First. Because of the events of D-Day on June 6, 1944, the Basse-Normandie coastline is one of France's tourist hotspots, as well as one of the world's most popular remembrance sites. On this coastline, close to the beaches, are the best-known and most visited cemeteries: the American cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, above Omaha beach, the Commonwealth cemeteries at Ranville, Bény-sur-Mer and Bayeux, and the German cemetery at La Cambe.
