The 517's Gang

"The 517th's Gang" is a succession of testimonies established in chronological order and told by the veterans of the 517th Parachute Regimental Combat Team. This unit first fought in Italy, then participated in the D-Day invasion of Provence and was later engaged in the Battle of the Bulge and the Hürtgen Forest. The majority of the stories told come from internet exchanges between veterans, as well as their memoirs and interviews conducted by the author. Numerous photographs and pieces from private collections are added to the testimonies. The 517th's Gang was written to remember those who have been forgotten by history. Part 1 : Italy & Provence
