M-43 Shovel cover

This canvas sheath is designed to carry the M-1943 shovel, often called the “folding shovel,” which—unlike the “T-shovel”—can be used as a pickaxe. The sheath is equipped with a hook—the second type, which is adjustable—that allows the shovel to be secured to a belt or to the M-1928 haversack at the designated location. The cover is in good condition and dates from 1944. Laundry numbers are inscribed.
