M-43 Shovel cover

This canvas sheath is used to carry the M-1943 shovel, often called the “folding shovel,” which, unlike the “T-shovel,” can be used as a pickaxe. This sheath is equipped with a hook—the second type, which is adjustable—that allows the shovel to be secured to a belt or to the M-1928 knapsack in the designated slot. The sheath shows signs of wear and is dated 1944.
