Dog Tag M1940 Chain

Following the soldThis chain is a reproduction. Called a wrong "first type string", this string is actually the only standardized model in the US Army during the Second World War. All other models (balls, rayon, plastic, etc ...) are at this time personal purchases. The chain balls that everybody knows well is standardized only in 1945.

This chain corresponds to the 1940 model, same year as the release of the Dog Tag notch. It is also called "Double J Hook" because its hooks form two letters "J" when they are open.
