"The guns of the Battle of Normandy have been silent for more than 80 years, and yesterday’s battlefields are now tourist sites, museums, or memorials. But for the men of the 101st, the battle began in an apple orchard, a marsh, and a wheat field, where they silently landed by parachute or glider. For thirty days, these men fought relentlessly in the Normandy bocage, ultimately achieving their objective.

Time has passed, and yesterday’s heroes are now elderly veterans whose wisdom and memories must serve as a guide for younger generations. I had the pleasure of meeting them in their homes or at their veterans’ gatherings, and of seeing that the flame of courage and the “Airborne” spirit still burned in their eyes!

This little book was written based on their testimonies and their photo albums."
