This American Model 1936 breastplate is attached by hooks to the belt's eyelets. It can be used to carry individual soldier's equipment (shovel, canteen, magazine holder, etc.). The rings are fitted with the hooks of the M-1936 musette. This type of shoulder strap was used by American paratroopers and, more generally, by all US Army personnel, especially when they were without the M-1928 Havresac. This example shows signs of use and is dated 1942.
