More info

This wrist compass does not come with a leather strap. It was distributed to US Army soldiers during the Second World War, and in particular to the American paratroopers who jumped over Normandy, sometimes attaching it to the breastplate or ankle.
Its nickname “Taylor” comes from the company that made it: TAYLOR (Rochester, N.Y.). The compass is damaged, but the strap is missing. Its owner has inscribed his identity on the reverse of the compass.
