USAAF "Crusher" Officer's cap

This cap is original. It's a US Army Air Forces officer's cap. Originally, USAAF officers received the same cap as US Army officers, but the latter needed to wear it in flight and in the pocket of their uniforms. To meet this demand, some manufacturers began to produce crusher caps, with soft visors and no internal headband.

This cap is a crusher cap produced by Bancroft, model Fighter (50 missions), in Chino (beige) canvas. The size label (7 1/4) is present. The cap is, however, very damaged, but remains presentable in a display case or on a mannequin.
