US 1918 Mess Tin

This bowl is in two parts. There's a bottom, then a lid with a folding handle for closing and securing. This type of canteen was distributed to all U.S. Army soldiers during the First World War, but continued to be used during the Second World War. It fits in the musette bag or in the canteen pocket of the Havresac. This canteen is dated 1918.
