Combat Infantryman Badge original, Sterling bracelet
This Combat Infantryman Badge is original and marked Sterling on the reverse. The badge has been modified for use as a bracelet.
The Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) is an American military decoration created in 1943 and awarded to US Army soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers below the rank of colonel who actively participated in combat in an infantry or special forces unit after December 6, 1941.
The CIB and its non-combatant equivalent, the Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB), were created at the height of the Second World War to boost troop motivation. It was designed to recognize the special nature of infantry combat, which exposes its specialists to greater risk of injury and death than any other military specialty.
