This original cap badge was worn by soldiers of the 16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers. The 16th regiment was founded in 1759 and combined with the 5th Royal Irish Lancers in 1922. It fought at Kasserine, Tunis and Monte Cassino during the Second World War.
